Concep??es de leitura e ensino: um estudo diagn?stico com professores do projeto "Ler & Educar - OBEDUC"

The difficulties that our students have in reading and understanding a text, considering the cognitive processes, from the most peripheral to the highest, as well as the difficulties that teachers face to involve their students in based reading activities, are questions which have been discussed for more than three decades in Brazil, without presenting improvement. The data of national and international indices reveals that the problems still exist. Brazil achieved low results, as an example, in PISA test of reading, since 2000, and in 2012, the rate was worse than in 2009. These indices show gaps in the process of readers development, which means that, if Brazilian students show difficulties in reading comprehension, we need to assist this process, be ir initial or continued of teachers, in order to verify if they have been prepared to form proficient readers. This study was created from Focal Groups that were realized with m?dium and high shool teachers in public schools in the city of Chapec?. The Groups were realized in the Project Ler & Educar (Read and Educate) based on the continued preparation of public schools teachers in the state of Santa Catarina. The Project was part of the Education Observation Center (OBEDUC) and was divided into three groups: Chapec?, Florian?polis and Crici?ma. This research has as objective to make the diagnosis what is the conception of reading that is base for the teachers task and how they understand the practice of teaching reading habilities in the classroom In order to accomplish this objective, the diagnosis is based on answers and interactions between teachers. The main questions for developing this analysis are: What do you understand by the word reading? What are the necessary tools/habilities for the reading to happen? Do you teach your student how to read? How do you teach? The theoretical framework of this study is based on the conceptions of reading according to Psycholinguistics and how this Science understands the process of teaching and working with reading in schools in order to form good readers. We assume the hypothesis that one of the problems related to the poor development in reading is based on the relationship between the conception teachers have of reading and how this conception has been reflecteed in the teaching process in the classroom. The data alalysed point to the teachers who have a formation without observating the relevance or studies of language or cognition, such as Psycholinguistics, for the process of the reader formation. The teachers in general, reveal a reading conception based on the common view, aiming the literary text. Based on the reading process, teachers asserted that the reading hability must be taught only in the primary grades, and in the subsequente grades, it is the teacher?s role only motivate his or her students. Educators believe that the act of reading is associated with the decoding and nothing else, that is why they state that it is enough for the student to be literate to know the reading hability. These results seem to indicate a teacher formation that has not taken into consideration the Psycholinguistics theories from today in order to develop the reading hability in the classroom. Thereby, we have found schools which do not use the Science Discovery of Reading with the objective of forming their readers in any level.As dificuldades que nossos estudantes t?m para ler e compreender um texto, considerando os processos cognitivos, dos mais perif?ricos aos mais altos, bem como as dificuldades que os professores enfrentam para envolver seus alunos em atividades que t?m por base a leitura, s?o quest?es que v?m sendo abordadas h? mais de tr?s d?cadas no Brasil, sem, em princ?pio, apresentar supera??o. Os dados dos indicadores nacionais e internacionais s?o reveladores de que os problemas parecem persistir. O Brasil obteve baixos resultados, por exemplo, na prova PISA de leitura, desde 2000, e, em 2012, o ?ndice foi pior do que em 2009. Esses indicadores apontam lacunas no processo de forma??o do leitor, isto ?, se os estudantes brasileiros apresentam dificuldades na compreens?o leitora, logo precisamos acompanhar a forma??o, tanto inicial quanto continuada, dos professores, a fim de verificar se eles t?m sido preparados para a tarefa de formar leitores proficientes. O presente estudo constituiu-se a partir de Grupos Focais realizados com professores do ensino fundamental e m?dio em seis escolas p?blicas de Chapec?. Os Grupos foram realizados no projeto de forma??o continuada dos professores das escolas da rede p?blica de Santa Catarina, Ler & Educar. O projeto fez parte do Observat?rio da Educa??o (OBEDUC) e esteve distribu?do em tr?s n?cleos: Chapec?, Florian?polis e Crici?ma. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo diagnosticar, por meio das respostas e intera??es entre professores, utilizando as transcri??es e v?deos dos Grupos Focais, qual ? a concep??o de leitura que permeia o trabalho dos professores e como eles compreendem a pr?tica do ensino da leitura em sala de aula. As perguntas-chave para o desenvolvimento da an?lise s?o: O que voc? entende por leitura? Quais ferramentas/habilidades s?o necess?rias para que a leitura aconte?a? Voc? ensina o seu aluno a ler? Como voc? ensina? O referencial te?rico deste trabalho est? pautado nas concep??es de leitura da Psicolingu?stica e como esta ci?ncia compreende o ensino e o trabalho com a leitura nas escolas para a forma??o de bons leitores. Partimos da hip?tese de que um dos agravantes relacionados ? m? forma??o de nossos leitores est? centrado na rela??o entre a concep??o de leitura que os professores possuem e, como essa concep??o tem se refletido no ensino da leitura em sala de aula. Os dados, por ora analisados, apontam para professores com uma forma??o sem a observ?ncia da relev?ncia e dos estudos das ci?ncias do campo da linguagem e da cogni??o, como a Psicolingu?stica, para o processo de forma??o do leitor. Os professores, de um modo geral, revelam uma concep??o de leitura pautada no senso comum, voltada para o vi?s do texto liter?rio. Com rela??o ao ensino da leitura, os professores afirmam que a leitura deve ser ensinada apenas nas s?ries iniciais, e que nas s?ries posteriores cabe ao professor apenas motivar seus alunos. Os educadores acreditam que o ato de ler est? inteiramente ligado ? decodifica??o e nada mais al?m deste processo, por isso, afirmam que basta o aluno estar alfabetizado para, automaticamente, saber ler. Esses resultados parecem apontar para uma forma??o de professores que n?o tem levado em considera??o as atuais teorias da Psicolingu?stica para o desenvolvimento da leitura em sala de aula. Deste modo, encontramos escolas que n?o se apropriam das descobertas da ci?ncia da leitura para a forma??o de leitores em seus diversos n?veis
